Damn, I guess we're almost neighbors or something, all of these live in my area. Though I've never seen a wild owl, I'm an early bird myself. And I can never spot them on trees, even though they are there.
I love your "sparkling" heron. But long-tailed tits are my favs in general.
"Days get blurry. The same few trees, over and over. You put on the gear, take it off, and put it on again. You listen to howls, to chirps. Nothing happens, then everything crashes down. And at that point, youβre either too on the edge, or too drowsy."

I'm super sad, but thank you for sending me this. I'm sending this forward.

13.02.2026 11:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hi! Sadly, it's out of my hands, I've got no influence over this matter. But I just checked and I'm hearing that if Nintendo finds no issues with the most recent version of the patch, it should go live this Friday. : )

They are small, but numerous, afraid, yet angry. Their feathery shells begin to fidget all over, erratically hopping between the rocks, in and out of the stream, even running into one another.

It fits an upcoming story thread for my next game, so this reality-based perspective does wonders for my brainstorming.

Just watched the lovely work by @andrewmarkhenry.bsky.social on ties between the sacred groves and the societies that form them, treasure them, and alter them. A useful reference for worldbuilders curious about the wilds.

You put on the worst clothes you can dig out from your bags. Thankfully, the bucket you find in a corner - most likely a chamber pot for the nighttime dwellers - allows you to discard the goblinsβ legacy, even if some of the scent will stick around for years.

23.01.2026 20:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0While it's a huge compliment, having an output of 1 RPG after 4 years of work each time (plus very necessary breaks between them) would mean I would have maybe 2-4 more of those in me, at best. Some adjustments will need to happen if I want to bring more to you guys.
23.01.2026 15:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0In not too distant future this post will be either really funny or completely forgotten, so it's worth a shot.
23.01.2026 14:56 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Wouldn't that be cool if all the gamedev giants were to go on a RPG hiatus for the next 2-3 years and let a small pretentious studio show up and harvest all the desperation boiling up in the playerbase

no
βIgnoring my wrinkles - do I look like a veteran to you? Hereβs my tip for surviving. Hide behind the proper fighters. Unless youβve got to impress them.β

I'm no expert, but the way it was explained to me is that while it became a factoid that old carrots "should" be portrayed as purple, there were also white, yellow, and red varietes. Orange ones existed in early Medieval times too, but were a minority, not a first thought for anyone.
13.01.2026 08:29 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I may be wrong, but apparently they didn't really need to label sounds or tunes as either high or low in the way they processed and wrote music. Cool to detect this type of anachronistic categorizing process.

#writing for my fantasy game. Some search bar inputs:
what is the smell of ochre
how do you call baking of clay
how did medieval people describe the pitch of the sound
are hot springs good for insects
things that are light-brown
pollinators of nettles
when do jackdaws pluck deer fur

The mice are running circles on the ancient trail, feasting on the scattered berries. They turn toward you their juice-stained snouts, then flee into the grasses.

Sometimes being a fantasy writer means that you search for the word "orange" in all of your files to make sure you replace them with either "ochre-red" or "carrot-red"
