I’ve now started watching Law & Order: SVU to calm my disappointment in the system. At least those pedophiles face justice.

Empires are fragile.
People are not.

It’s so strange to claim self defense.

You can’t claim fear of a vehicle while standing in front of it. If it was safe enough to block, it wasn’t a lethal threat.

He chose lethal force after creating the danger himself. That’s not self-defense.

If the car was a threat, stepping in front of it was reckless. If it wasn’t, pulling a gun was unjustified. He created the situation, then used lethal force. That undermines any self-defense claim.

It’s sad we fight each other instead of the wealthy and powerful people manipulating us and benefitting from the system.
We will loose our lives for them while they get more wealth and power.

I’ve noticed that many wealthy people operate with situational morality rather than principle-based morality.

When morality costs nothing, it’s easy.
When morality costs money, power, or comfort we find out if it’s real.

Our moral compass can come from different places but they can point in the same direction.

I feel like religion functions as philosophy with additional structure and incentive. It takes philosophical reflection with divine purpose and a promise of spiritual reward.

Basically religion is philosophy but with a rewards card.

And if that makes your life easier then that’s okay.

If rich people can donate money to build a ballroom then they can donate to feed the hungry.

Lots of talk about people “abusing” food aid but if the richest 1% cashed in even 0.1% of their stock and donated it to SNAP. Millions of families could eat.
There would be a lot less hate toward billionaires if their wealth actually helped feed families instead of sitting in untouchable portfolios.

If yall don’t want people on SNAP then companies should pay a living wage.
Yes even burger flippers should have livable wages. No one should go hungry.

Rich people don’t need to convince everyone they’re right. They only need to prevent the rest of us from having a common goal.

The real question is, how long will we keep fighting each other instead of asking who benefits from the division?

You’re absolutely right. People who don’t actually learn about their religion and follow blindly are prone to be misled by fear or authority instead of guided by compassion which is ironic, since most religions at their core are supposed to teach empathy, kindness, and understanding.

People have different experiences, and just because you can’t relate doesn’t make them less valid. Religion teaches compassion. Maybe reflect on that to soften your heart. I say this gently as an atheist, because I still value kindness.

Big Pharma doesn’t want you to know this, but you can grow your own Tylenol in the garden.

I wish more people studied social sciences. The generational wealth gap didn’t appear out of nowhere. Things like slavery, the Three-Fifths Compromise, Jim Crow, redlining, and systemic racism put lots of Black Americans generations behind. Generational trauma carries burdens as well.

Companies love to say wages are set by a “market survey.” But that just means they look at what competitors are paying, not what it actually costs to live. If everyone underpays, the survey just reinforces poverty. Why not tie wages to cost of living so people can actually earn a livable wage?

When you dehumanize a marginalized group for viewership you really just show the emptiness of your own character.
Absolutely no morals exist.

If you believe the world is against you, you’ll see hostility everywhere and end up creating the conflict you fear.

Stop looking for enemies just to fit the narrative.

Calm down. We are not that important to the big picture.

Ignorance ensures dependence, not freedom.

If a God claims to be love but doesn’t love equally, then my refusal to worship is a protest in defense of the people I love.

Evil is often ordinary. Being human doesn’t always mean being good. “Just doing my job” is a poor excuse.

Some people love how you make them feel. Not who you are.
Some people love you in the way that’s easiest for them, not in the way that’s safest for you.

Love without action, without safety, without truth, is just sentiment. It doesn’t hold weight. And if someone is emotionally unavailable, avoidant, self-centered, or has unresolved issues can want to love you and still fail at doing it in a way that nurtures and protects you.
