It breaks my heart where the industry is going. This company deserved better announcement around this. Better celebration of its contribution to the Canadian entertainment system. But just…. nothing.

Voice actor Deven Mack on Twitter: With 54 years of history yet no major fanfare, Nelvana Ltd. closed its doors this past week. Some know this animation studio for their work on Rock & Rule, Star Wars Holiday Special, Droids and Ewoks. I knew them for incredible 90s shows that captured my imagination as a child. As a teen in 2006, Nelvana gave me my first foray into professional voice over with Lab Rat in Grossology, my first and only anime roles as Zeo in Beyblade: Metal Masters and Wynton Bakugan: Battle Planet, along with countless other productions up until this past year.

Not officially confirmed but Nelvana, one of Canada's most storied animation studios, appears to have quietly closed down on Friday, yet another casualty of Corus Entertainment's struggle to survive.

Trying to work on other passions other than drawing. Working on a video essay and the script is pretty much done- now it’s time for the part that scares me the most…filming.

I hoped my former theatre kid energy would kick in for this part but so far I’m just anxious.

A month or so ago I was looking at job survey to broaden my options and I had to answer survey questions about how I responded emotionally to AI imagery. Other websites for jobs were impossible to navigate and it was sheer luck I was able to figure out how to submit something as simple as a resume.

Disrespectfully, I need anyone who has not looked for a job within the past year to shut up because shit has changed. Your advice and experience doing this in the past means nothing. You have not job hunted like people are job hunting right now, don’t give people false hope with your outdated ideas

Like it started with a story concept- now it’s an illustrated novel of multiple parts and I’ve BARELY written chapter one
Help me oh my god what am I doing

It really needs to be studied the balance and excitement of a new big project idea versus the incoming dread/anxiety of it being real.
