John MacBride, executed in May 1916 for his participation in the Rising is present in the collection through Maud Gonne’s claim for an allowance on behalf of her husband. The file contains a copy of a marriage certificate in the parish de St Honoré d’Eylau, Paris, where Seán MacBride was born.

It's lovely to have interns in the archive for the first time in a long time. It's a great exercise to try and verbalise how we do our work. Explaining process things that have become second nature over years in @msp-archive.bsky.social is in fact incredibly challenging 😅

The @msp-archive.bsky.social is going from strength to strength. The end of the Decade of Centenaries has opened a new, exciting chapter. Loads to do, some invisible work and some very visible changes. Numerous projects, short and long term. It's a good time to do deep work.

Quality cataloguing takes time, any outreach activity (research, lectures ...) comes on top of that. We're also working on a new website too and planning for new digital infrastructure.

There will always be more files catalogued than digitised. The latest figures were released by the Dept of Defence in their annual report 2024.
