My mum’s done our family tree back to the mid 1700s.

On my mum’s side it is mainly Welsh, Irish, and English from Lancashire. On my dad’s side mainly Lancashire, Scottish highlands, and some Scandinavian based on DNA results - but we haven’t linked it to a specific person yet.

I slowly came to terms with it around 2010-11. I came out to my mum in November 2012 on my 16th birthday.

Because of my dad’s legacy, and the rubbish he placed on the family, I have considered changing my last name so he can no longer be part of my life in any way even though he has been gone two years.

… But what would I change my last name to?! 🤔

If you mean the best place I have ever been, probably St Martin. It’s an amazing place, the island is just incredible. Drinking rum punch and watching planes fly directly over you was perfect.

If you mean regularly, probably visiting one of my friends in central London :)

So this suggests American admirals are capable of doing more than British ones… Or they just have a different leadership structure where lower ranks take on more responsibility?

The ratio compared to America is way off.

They have 7 times the amount of admirals of all kinds, so you’d assume they’d have 7 times the amount of combat ships… but they have 19 times the amount of combat type ships available.

Stupid question… But is this actually linked to performance and competency… Or do all those with a command get made an admiral?
