Monkee Business Sales Tax vs Income Tax Sales Tax: a tax collected from consumers on purchases paid during the transaction. vs Income Tax: a tax on individuals’ earnings including profits and wages. (Accompanied by art of Goro the monkee in a suit and Bippo the monkee looking confused and saying eh?? huh??)

Sales Tax Bippo buys a banana from Goro for $5. The sales tax in their state is 5% Bippo pays Goro $5.25 for the banana. Goro has to remit (send) the government $0.25 in sales tax. He gets to keep the $5... (for now) (Accompanied by art of Bippo the monkee, a $5 banana, a receipt, and Goro the monkee)

Income Tax Goro bought the banana for $1 and sold it for $5 so his profit was $4. He sold 500 bananas last year so his profit for the year was $2000, this is his income. Each year Goro must pay the government tax on his earnings. The income tax where he lives is 20%. Goro pays $400 in taxes, and gets to keep $1600. Always ask a professional for tax advice!! It's probably the tea leaves used. If you're mixing whatever tea you have lying around with whatever coffee, it's not gonna taste.

If you're going to a cha chaang teng, American restaurant's tea tends to sit longer (and get more bitter) due to less demand conpared to HK counterpart
