It doesn’t matter if Schumer worked behind the scenes to orchestrate the cave, or it’s simply that he + Durbin are so weak that they couldn’t whip the Dem Caucus against it. Either way, he must be removed from power.

This deal to reopen the government is fucking disgraceful.

Tens of millions will lose their healthcare. Trump will be emboldened.

This is exactly what’s wrong with Democratic Party leadership and why we need more people in Congress who will actually hold the line.

WASHINGTON NEEDS A SHAKE-UP

The same career politicians who caused the shutdown are now playing games with your health care. Eight Senate Democrats just cut a deal—but Speaker Johnson still refuses to hold a vote to protect ACA subsidies. Tennessee can change that on Dec. 2.

I don’t care if Schumer voted no. If he’s unable to wrangle the caucus, he’s not an effective leader. I’ll continue to push for the caucus to elect a new one.

A leader would not have lost eight colleagues tonight. This happened because you let it happen or because you’ve totally lost control of the caucus in one of the most important moments since you’ve been Democratic leader. Either way, it’s on you. You need to step down. We need someone who can lead.
