Not sure it’s particularly useful for most jobs either. Being motivated and interested is helpful. Passionate often a red flag!

What’s the actually happiness data in the survey say? (Ie rather than engagement)

This is such a wonderful research finding. Ocytocin is the baby cuddles hormone known as the love hormone. You can get sprays of it. This finds that the hormone plus loving touch and words help wounds heal faster. Love for the win

💕 Does oxytocin help wounds heal faster? Not on its own.

In 80 healthy couples, intranasal oxytocin accelerated wound healing only when paired with affectionate touch and partner appreciation.

Oxytocin acts as a "social amplifier".

The difference is that a) it’s become more obvious the social connection & social support matters and b) that there are (now) things that help. A big issue is that to get it noticed campaigns etc made it an epidemic as a headline.

Not sure we properly tried.

However mocked it was the aim of Levelling Up. And could be of whole of society resilience (as it is in another country)

We did have that briefly for both economic and social… albeit not back by serious money- or proper connection to evidence.

Do you have reports or studies on Disaster Early Warning Systems?

The Global Safety Evidence Centre has published its first evidence review protocol on the effectiveness of disaster early warning systems.

Please share with colleagues and networks who may have work we haven’t yet found.

Why don’t we just shift much more to this and across peoples working life? And do it deliberately rather than painfully.

The misery has a scaring effect too.

The way human capital is measured contributes to this policy making error we’ve been following for several decades - it’s the market value of qualification - which means all sorts of roles and other aspects of humans are missed. A change here could be significant course shift.

Fandoms are one of the reasons that the prophecies of the damnation from rock music didn’t happen.

It’s been a major problem with general policy making. Based on flawed human capital metrics.

I’d support this only in exchange for national measurement of wellbeing in schools from age 8. No idea why the treasury is still refusing to support this. It would help almost every policy area including this one find out what’s effective.
