Finally watched The Invisible Man (1933) & loved every second
of those 71 mins. Now in my top favorite Universal horror movies. Story & special effects held up incredibly well & the themes still felt relevant in 2025. That's...fun.

Can't believe I waited so long to watch Slash/Back! Uki is now one of my favorite "final girls" but honestly all the teens are fantastic. It's available on Shudder and you should totally watch it if you're up for a fun, "The Thing"-type alien horror with bad-ass Inuit teen girls. Loved it.

Escaping reality this weekend & have watched Messiah of Evil (1st time), The Wizard of Oz (childhood favorite & hadn't watched in 30+ years), & Picnic at Hanging Rock (1st time). Great choices so far!

BREAKING: Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos are popping champagne because House Republicans JUST passed Trump’s β€œbig, beautiful bill.”

This bill is a BIG tax handout for billionaires, paid for by ripping health insurance from 14 MILLION people.

We must stop this from passing the Senate.

Spent today at @salemhorrorfest.bsky.social watching The Substance followed by The Faculty of Horror's live podcast recording. That film honestly made me cry a few times. Also wanted to vomit a little bit (the foley work and SFX were effective)! Felt nice to unpack the experience with other people.

I live in MA, so work was closed because of our regional holiday called Patriots' Day. My family used to actually celebrate it by going to Concord and Lexington, where the battle against the British (and the monarchy) started with a bang. Wish "no kings" wasn't so relevant or controversial in 2025.

Simon summons the spirits (of extra Churu). My parents cleaned their attic and I couldn't let my early 90s Ouija Board go to Savers or the dump...

Today's fortune cookie isn't wrong.

New England comfort food in uncomfortable times. Yes, that is brown bread that's steamed in a can (sweetened with molasses and raisins) and it's very good with butter or marmalade.

Ohhh I didn't know this was a thing. Guess I'll be watching it again!

I will say there is nothing "accidental" about any of this. When you choose drop a boulder into a puddle, you KNOW it's going to make a mess. Thankful for the Alt accounts for keeping us informed as this continues to be the stupidest timeline.

I liked a lot about it and I'm glad I mostly avoided spoilers, but I feel like it might actually benefit from a second watch. The soundtrack was fun. I usually enjoy Oz Perkins' aesthetic choices, even when I'm not sure how I feel about his films, and I'll totally watch whatever he does next.

Finally watched Longlegs. I'm glad people seemed to like it, and there were some good performances in there, but this non-spoilery screenshot sums up my feelings about it.

At OPM, Musk’s staffers won’t leaveβ€”they work around the clock and have even installed sofa beds in the office. Our access to data systems has been restricted, raising serious concerns about cybersecurity and a complete lack of oversight. We are keeping our heads down and documenting everything.

Yes, this administration is dangerous and cruel, but they are also shockingly dim and incompetent.

Opportunities are everywhere.

Make everything as hard as possible. Resist every demand. Refuse entry without a warrant. Don’t take the buyout. Their problem solving skills are πŸ“‰

Nonprofit work is very difficult right now, as is working in the reproductive rights field. Gus knew I needed post-work hangout time with a chunky little tabby today.

Three 1.5 year-old cats curled up together in a circle, laying on a soft blanket with a tortilla pattern. Two cats are white and one is a grey tabby with a white belly and white hind legs. They are all sleeping.

Not excited about adding new social media to my life but here I am & I've brought the cats along for the ride. It's going to be a long and dark 4 yrs. The last 8 yrs have already felt impossibly long. Slivers of hope are often cat-shaped but sometimes they're amorphous, made of rage & resistance.
