I mean on the plus side I'm now fully recovered from burnout at last, but this now means that I have a mountain of stuff to get done that I couldn’t manage when I had burnout, which ironically puts me at risk of burning out again 🙃

I also need to finish remaking my website so people can sign up to my mailing list but this keeps getting delayed since I'm still playing catch-up on my life after 3-4 years of total chaos, which has created a huge backlog of work for me.

I will keep you all posted on when the new website is ready.

I'm not leaving Bluesky any time soon because I am way too exhausted to keep moving platforms and there’s really no good alternatives, but just to let everyone know I do have other social media sites.

I consider the Solarpunk movement to be a scenius, one capable of pushing back on the current political climate of doom and fear.

I really like this idea of "scenius" to replace the concept of the lone genius. It’s a much healthier and more natural way to approach creativity that does away with the myth of the great man and encourages collective intellectual/creative pursuits and cooperation.

Criminal does not mean evil.

You really need to bear that in mind when you write criminals. Being in conflict with the law does not inherently make someone evil.

Most cloverkin are born with three leaves on their heads, but cloverkin that are born with four or more leaves are revered as spiritual leaders due to their unique perspective.

Cloverkin also have close bonds with Leprechauns and have been known to help set them free when they have been captured.

There's this really cool short film called "Centrifuge Brain Project" which I can only describe as "A mad acientist makes theme park rides."

It's this weird combination of analog horror with the old footage and megalophobia witrh the physics-defying rides that you probably make up in your sleep.

I think breaking the status quo means starting off by re-building community in order to push back on hyper-individualism. This could also mean embracing more communal forms of raising children (it takes a village and all) to push back on ideas like the nuclear family.

It's pretty wild to me that investigators have uncovered that anti-trans campaigns are largely funded by the fossil fuel industry, and that the presumed motivations are pretty directly to redirect the public conversation away from climate change... and that this isn't bigger news.

But if people choose to have children and find healthier ways of raising them that go against the current cultural hegemony, I think that can be really powerful.

There's so much potential to raising kids in a Solarpunk way so they can inhabit the world we fought like hell to give them.

I'm iffy on this idea because I've seen that it can quickly devolve into people bullying new parents for "daring to bring a child into this dying world."

Autonomy and choice should be the emphasis here. If people don't want kids for whatever reason (economy, climate grief) that's valid.
