#TheHiroshimaMen OTD, 16 July, 1945, the world's first nuclear explosion occurred. A plutonium implosion device was tested on the plains of the Alamogordo Bombing Range, 210 miles south of Los Alamos, New Mexico. The test's code name was "Trinity." @theresthistory.bsky.social

One reason why I chose Hiroshima. I was in Volgograd during lockdown 2021, researching in the city museum archives. The curator showed me gifts Stalingrad received from grateful countries (sword from George V, etc), & also cities that had suffered similar catastrophic damage ...
