I can’t help on Series 1 Landies, but I must thank you for those pictures as I’m just building the Revell 1/24 S3 and I’d struggled to find any real-life examples of the roof rails provided in the kit. Those images prove that at some point, rails were mounted directly on the ‘tropical’ roof…

Airfix 1/72 Sikorsky-VFW CH-53G, painted in overall Olive Drab. Folded rotor hub from ResKit, scratch-built blade supports.
Airfix 1/72 Westland pre-production Navy Lynx (doors from Matchbox kit) in overall Oxford Blue, with scratch-built main rotor blade fold and blade supports.
Airfix 1/72 Agusta-Sikorsky ASH-3D in overall US Extra Dark Sea Grey (FS16099) with dayglo Orange nose and tail. Tauro decals. Revell main rotor with scratch-built blade fold.
Airfix 1/72 Westland Sea King HC.4 in overall Gloss Olive Drab with hi-viz markings. Kit rotorhead and blade-fold.
Thanks! I'm a big fan of folding rotors for saving display space, especially for larger helicopters, and an even bigger fan of kit-supplied blade supports to save scratch-building your own (really I should revisit a couple of Sea Kings and add the supports...)

My 1/72 aviation builds for 2025 - just the two, but the first, the Freightdog Models Westland Wasp HAS.1, did take a while due to the nature of a short-run mixed-media kit (great moulded details though), so the new Airfix
Wessex HC.2 was a doddle by comparison! #ScaleModels #HistScaleModels

Despite having grown up on the Somerset-Dorset border, I can’t remember seeing a red finger post until a few weeks ago, when we were driving to Sherborne to see The Longest Yarn at the cathedral. It might even have been that sign! Are there many of them?

Looks great! In my experience the best way of finding a missing part is scratch-building a matching pair of replacements, at which point the original turns up…
