I'm about to embark on my annual sojourn to Lapland or St.Annes On The Sea, whichever is closest. In the meantime, I want all you boys and girls to have a rockin good Christmas!

Lots of festive rain I see....
21.12.2025 22:05 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Just say no. I refused to get involved with that nonsense and was ostracized for doing so. Best decision I ever made.
12.12.2025 23:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0She is known as a pop/avant garde artist. Some of her stuff is really hard to get into but this album is her most accessible. Itβs one of those records that just clicks into place after you have played it a few times.
11.12.2025 17:39 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Still haven't gone beyond "The Colour Of Spring" but will get there for sure. Have you heard this Nathan? It has very definite Talk Talk vibes for sure. It's from what I happen to think is one of the finest albums released in the last 20 years. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykGj...
11.12.2025 16:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Well this is strange. I was just watching this only a few weeks ago. From the superb, "American Folk Blues Festival" DVD series. Worth it for Howlin Wolf's "Shake For Me" alone. Excellent stuff.
11.12.2025 16:14 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Incidentally I tried to introduce my brother to Tom Waits and he didnβt like him either. I was most disappointed!!!
12.11.2025 17:05 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβm old enough to have discovered The Beatles by myself. Well me and my brother actually. My parents also liked them. Every record was greeted with tremendous excitement as we couldnβt wait to see what they came up with next. I have very happy memories of hearing these songs when they came out
12.11.2025 17:04 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Better late than never. βSheβs Leaving Homeβ is a lost forgotten classic. The fact that Macca was able to write songs like this and βFor No Oneβ in his early to mid 20βs. Such wisdom for one so young.
12.11.2025 16:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Innaresting. They are the holy grail of pop music for me. I'm intrigued by why you struggled with them....I'm afraid I'm terribly biased and territorial where they are concerned but I am always willing to listen to other people's opinions..
12.11.2025 16:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It was originally regarded as "self indulgent" but it's a wonderful album that highlights Crosby's eclectic talents. Pity he didn't make a follow-up though the Graham Nash & David Crosby album is also worth checking out....
10.11.2025 13:38 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm exploring Talk Talk at the moment. Haven't got to this record yet. I'm stuck on "The Colour Of Spring" though I have a feeling that the later albums are going to be more to my taste.....
10.11.2025 13:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Morning Ms Matthews. Tuned in (but not dropping out)....
09.11.2025 10:49 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Some good stuff on there for sure.
09.11.2025 10:12 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Where would we be without Ace Records? A wonderful record label run by enthusiasts who know their bizness. Here's to another 50 years!!!!!!
02.11.2025 11:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The follow-up may be even better....
13.10.2025 09:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0First saw her in Woody's "Play It Again Sam" and was instantly smitten. She was the best foil for Woody's neurotic characters and her comic timing was second to none. If "Annie Hall" was Woody's best film, she was the main reason for it's success.
13.10.2025 09:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Emotionally beautiful......original is pretty darn good too.
13.10.2025 09:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Who else on BBC radio would follow Barclay James Harvest with Ray Charles? π
12.10.2025 11:01 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Morning Cerys. The Dylan track..... Wow! And this was an out-take?
12.10.2025 09:32 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Azp... It's a belter too. And if you ever wondered where Wilko got his guitar sound from...take a listen.
28.09.2025 12:31 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Sorry to be a know-it-all but Dr.Feelgood got their name from another song called "Doctor Feelgood" recorded in 1964 by Johnny Kidd & The Pirates. Wilko was a huge fan of Mick Green, the Pirates guitar player...... ππ
28.09.2025 11:09 β π 12 π 2 π¬ 1 π 0Ahβ¦..good point. Itβs best to read the post BEFORE replying not afterwards. πππ
25.09.2025 17:55 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Wot no D J Shadow?
25.09.2025 15:27 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0One of my favourite songs......ever.
23.09.2025 17:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's an important album. Shows maturity both lyrically and musically. If you can, listen to the album again by concentrating on the production and the arrangements and you'll get some idea as to where Wilson is heading....
23.09.2025 08:48 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Itβs a great book. Bought a copy!
