I’m seeing weird behavior, too

Snailfish curled up on a blade of green eelgrass. Fish had a blob like shape, and is creamy orange in color. Its tail is small, but has white speckles on it. The fish has a rather cute presence.

I stumbled upon this cute little snailfish while diving municipal wharf 2 in Monterey, CA yesterday. I’ve been seeing other divers mention spotting them recently, so I was hoping I’d find one. I almost couldn’t believe I actually found it!

Almost entirely shore diving. Both Bonaire and Curaçao are mostly shore diving. It’s more tiring with hauling tanks and shore entries than staying somewhere at a resort and doing boat dives, but it was wonderful diving.

From what I’m told from friends who’ve been to both Curaçao and Bonaire, Curaçao the island is a bit more built out, more stuff topside. Some of the dive sites a little trickier with parking and entry. Excellent diving both places; Bonaire in some ways had easier setup with tank swaps and parking.

Haven’t been to Bonaire, but I dove in Curaçao last year, and it was great!
