I've been running gdcparties.com for a few years now. Some shitty company BlueberryAI decided they'd just take all the source code for the work I've done and reskin it, advertising it as their own. Jokes on them...it was still linked to my events spreadsheet, and now their website looks like this 😉

Honestly I thought it would be a quick joke for Graham, just slipped in with some things I sent Serge, hadn’t imagined it’d get opened on stream 😂 Hope it was good for a laugh!

Sometimes I ask myself why I live here and the answer is Minecraft and stubbornness. And my partner. Also friends and good healthcare and (for now) a somewhat acceptable political climate.

But boy the actual climate is always rough the first third of the year.

Walking to work, it’s kind of funny (and sad) to see fireworks packaging and plastic champagne flutes along the way. It means that the snow that melted there this week hasn’t melted in TWO MONTHS. Almost no sun or above zero temperatures for two months.

Fun! Thanks for sharing. It was a small amount of work for a multiplicative impact, and felt like one of the few things I could do to contribute while in a non dev role.

The world feels like it’s on fire and I’m going to meet up with my friends for a weekend of catching digital monsters and I don’t quite know how to reconcile that.

I’m sorry that it took so much out of you. The game was incredible, and as someone from the Pacific Northwest living across the world, it was a wonderful and mysterious world that helped with some homesickness. Very strong memories of this game, which are always a good indicator for me of success.

I had a weird dream that everything in Minecraft was aligned to the block grid, and you and every mob moved one block at a time. Unsure if board games or Caves of Qud are to blame for this nighttime hallucination. 🤔

Thank goodness the sun is starting to peek out, it’s been dark or grey for like two months now. And I’ve been sick twice this year already somehow, so I’m really done with my apartment. Sat so much I’m having shooting leg and back pain, so it’s back to stretches, a foam roller, and massage gun.

Just finished Öoo. One of the smartest, tightest puzzle games that I’ve played. Surprising amounts of complexity for a little guy with two bombs. And each time you’re stuck you can think, what did the game just teach me? Recommend playing it in 1-2 sittings though, so you don’t forget things.

I should say I sank 55 hours into it about a year ago and loved the idea of everything, and knew that it held more for me later. Now here I am trying to remember how to do basic navigation. 😅 It is quite disorienting, yeah.

lol that’s how I died in a minute. Grabbed an item and got attacked in the starting area 😂 I might try again but losing an hour or two of work at a time is really frustrating

I have never tried, and failed, to like a game as much as Caves of Qud. I picked it back up again after a year off died a minute in. Next time it took me 20 minutes to die, and I was back to 0 minute of progress through a world I want to like. The game is like if an ASCII TTRPG hated your guts.

Old Man’s War and We Are Legion (We Are Bob) sort of fit the isekai to space opera criteria. Have you read either?

Glad that the area is catching up in transportation technology. I moved away in 2014 and arrived in a place with a huge public transit network, and it felt like living in the future 😂

This may surprise you to know but back in the day we had to wait several days before we knew what our pictures looked like 😂
