How can any government justify pushing children into poverty?

Today I have set out a range of diplomatic, economic and humanitarian measures.

Here in Scotland, we will pause public funding - including from our enterprise agencies - to arms companies linked to Israel.

Any firm seeking support must prove their products are not used there.

We will deliver new humanitarian aid:

⚪️ £400,000 funding towards a new field hospital for Gaza, designed in Scotland.

⚪️ £600,000 to the UN’s humanitarian fund for food, medicine and shelter.

⚪️ Medical treatment in Scotland for up to 20 injured children from Gaza.

We also need to see urgent action from the UK Government:

⚪️ Unconditionally recognise the State of Palestine.

⚪️Sanction the Israeli security cabinet and those responsible for illegal settlements.

⚪️Ban imports from settlements.

⚪️Suspend the UK–Israel Free Trade Agreement.

The peoples of both Israel and Palestine deserve to be able to live side by side in peace and security - and the recognition of Palestine is an essential first step to securing a two state solution.

We also urgently need a ceasefire. The genocide must end. Now.
