CBP puts the blame on legacy IT systems. To be blunt, while these problems may be completely valid, this is entirely the fault of the government.

what’s even more extraordinary is that the economy was mostly doing okay despite his absolute best efforts - as damaging as his tariffs and immigration policies are, we hadn’t tipped over into a recession
and so, unsatisfied, he decided to kick the economy in the dick with a huge oil shock
I lived through the economy being destroyed in 2008. it is not destroyed now. what is happening is that social media is forcing stress to accumulate in your brain until you feel like you have an abscess in your skull, and you project pain.
but to quote buffalo bill - you don't know what pain is
In the same way blaming Israel solely for the Iran war is a way of offloading responsibility and maintaining belief in the goodness of the US, Tucker Carlson saying Jews want to build the Third Temple allows him to ignore how much more powerful Christian Zionists are. www.haaretz.com/us-news/2026...

is the US Treasury backed by the full faith & credit of the United States or isn't it?
no, it isn't, because these men believe real faithfulness is cucked. we are dangling over the precipice as long as these fools hold power.
You really told an Argentine he was Black? Grok doesn’t count.

If that were true we would have come in to help before the regime killed 30,000 people and when it was facing a massive rebellion.

This does not make Israel's war moral or prudent (it's neither). But it does make it understandable.
The long-term strategic consequences of this war (roiling instability and lasting war that could fiscally cripple the Israeli state, the growing hatred of US and EU publics) aren't well-appreciated.
The chance to collapse the Iranian state entirely, or at least cripple it for a while, is very attractive to the people who've been its primary long-term target for extermination for decades, especially since it is pursuing a realistic method of accomplishing this (nukes).

Have we considered the McKinley connection for Trump's ballroom?
Teddy Roosevelt set the norm that annexes to James Hoban's mansion should be smaller and deferential to James Hoban's mansion. Trump breaks with that and returns to the scale of the 1890s "Bingham Plan."

Although it would be doctrinally impermissible to assert definitively that any particular person is the anti-Christ, he is an anti-Christ.

Jacobs: The Trump administration doesn’t give a shit about the Iranian people… They are literally deporting people back to Iran who fled the brutal Iranian regime.
He doesn’t care about human rights anywhere — not here in the United States, not in Iran, not anywhere else.

Years ago my team at CNA did a review of the US use of proxies.
A pertinent finding: “Policymakers & the US military should restrict the use of proxies to irregular warfare activities against states or other nonstate armed groups & avoid any temptations to use them as surrogate conventional armies”
