As a fanbase, we are a reflection of the wider society & social media amplifies the very worst of us. The minority of bigoted morons, who deserve nothing but scorn, are massively over represented. The majority need to step up & call it out. Glad this has happened & hope Romaine feels the support.

Yes, glad I’m not on X - but the bile & racism that the moronic section of our fanbase feel justified in sharing is reflective of the state of the world and looks awful on us.

A definite dip in intensity and aggression over the past couple of weeks - looking far easier to play against than in first half of the season - what do you put that down to, Phil? Are the spate of injuries symptomatic of fatigue possibly setting in?

Worrying lack of urgency and bite today - very poor 10 mins at both ends cost us - beginning to look like a team going through the motions - hopefully Xhaka’s return may instill some much needed leadership and intensity- injuries beginning to bite a bit too?

No complaints on result tonight, no shame to lose first home game & suffer first back to back defeats against the likely & defending champions. We did look a bit jaded and flat tonight though, do you think we may rotate a few for Sunday’s cup match?

Thanks Phil - agree that this was a fine performance but undone by an extremely strong and well drilled team - sometimes just need to accept these losses as unavoidable - even if we did play ourselves into a bit of trouble on occasions which they were merciless in taking advantage of.

Yeah - just too strong ultimately - ruthlessly efficient and not a team to warm to - but do what they do extremely well, and will definitely win the league. Avoid defeat against Liverpool, win in the cup and this will be quickly forgotten.

Yep, didn’t look outclassed at all - Arsenal are a very strong, but not a truly great side - just that bit better at everything than the rest of the league- and that’s been the the story so far today.

Yes, all this woke stuff like deescalation, negotiation and avoiding wars & conflict- who needs that sort of stuff in Team America, World Police. As pitiful as it is terrifying.

A top half finish is certainly not out of the question. We are definitely a very good team. We were really strong & imposing last night - but against a very poor Burnley side. Still issues about sloppiness that will get punished by other teams - especially away, where form remains poor.

Fantastic- good window - have moved on a few who need minutes or a new start - and hopefully have upgraded slightly out wide.

Very controlled -the only time we’ve looked in any danger is with over confidence and complacency when passing out of defence. Diarra excellent and Brobbey’s strength is just phenomenal.

Interesting to see how we shape up - 5 at back to match Burnley? Geertruida as holding mid would have been my personal preference- but he’s had quite a 24 hrs so not surprising he’s not starting.

Yes, but players can become unsettled before news hits - agent talk etc - may have been a factor in why hasn’t had as many minutes as expected over last 2-3 weeks?

Expect this has been rumbling for some time & may explain why he wasn’t played at all against West Ham? Will be a big loss if goes as never let us down when on pitch and seemed to have settled extremely well.

Yes, Xhaka is worth 1.5 players isn’t he? 2 really poor away shows in a row - may need to consider back 5 again - maybe not against Burnley, but certainly against Liverpool & Arsenal?

Think you need to give West Ham some credit for exploiting our deficiencies- 2 very good goals & in fairness Bowen & Summerville were as excellent as Hume & Reinildo were awful today - but we handed that game to them on a silver platter today. 2 really poor away days in row is a bit of a concern.

About right - agree about Hume & Reinildo - gifted them the freedom of the flanks - but lack of midfield allowed them to control the tempo and we were so unbelievably open - Regis got it wrong- we have tried attacking team away in 2 halves this season - today & against United - both times cut open.

The obvious one is how do we cope without Xhaka - likely to miss at least 3 - Burnley at home followed by Liverpool & Arsenal - all very different challenges without our talisman - what has today taught us?

Saw how much we massively miss him in first half - but Diarra showed signs of what he can bring, and at least it doesn’t sound too serious. Chance for some to step up and show we are more than team Granit.
