1-1 i reckon - Everton very decent and Beto bound to find his scoring boots against us having failed to hit a barn door thus far. Just need to continue to accumulate points & show the resilience & strength that has got us off to such a flier.

Excellent half from #SAFC

The hybrid formation badly malfunctioned for the opener - but response v strong. Goal came from long throw but Sunderland haven't sat off. Chelsea on top towards end of half but Roefs rarely tested.

Sadiki has been marvellous.

Wow!

So it's now 5 who recognise the experience and commitment of Jess Phillips, verses 5 who wants her out - a group which includes at least 1 which is working with Reform.

This is now nothing more than Reform trying to destroy the inquiry and undermine the Labour government.

β€œI can’t tell you how much I disagree with her. I think that her approach, where people who are lawfully in this country, who have been working in our communities, perhaps in our schools, in our hospitals, running businesses – our neighbours, people lawfully here – she wants to reach in and remove them from our country, for cultural reasons she says. That is how far the Conservative party has sunk.”

Keir Starmer on Katie Lam and her migration views: "β€œI can’t tell you how much I disagree with her." Some fairly strong comments to ITV.

The Established Church needs to find a voice on this kind of dehumanising depiction of men, women and children who have come to our country, being spilled all over the place to say the only thing that has human value is a salary above Β£38k and thst any foreigner who ever earns less must get out

People who have come to the United Kingdom legally, played by the rules and made it their home do not need to β€œgo home”. This is their home.

I've written to Kemi Badenoch to give her the chance to reject these divisive calls from her frontbencher Katie Lam.

This apparent shift in the government's position is very welcome news. πŸ‘

In the summer, we wrote to the government alongside @adass.bsky.social urging them to implement LPS, which has been put on the back burner for too long. It's encouraging that Ministers have listened and responded.

Yes, as disappointing as Labour have generally been, I think over 3/4 of us want something that’s not carnage, cruelty & division. I’d expect those who vote for Reform in local elections will soon see their true colours, as vital services / provisions are lost & council taxes rise on their watch.

I know I’m in the minority, understand it’s ground breaking & massively influencial, but never got into this as much as other TH LPs, think it’s patchy - prefer Fear of Music, Speaking in Tongues & 77 personally. Remarkable band though.

I feel like this photo of masked, armed men pepper spraying a pastor protecting his community is going to be a defining picture of this moment in America for a long, long time.

Good & balanced analysis as always. As you say, if we are grumbling about a 2-0 loss at old Trafford, that we lost in first 30 mins due to rare tactical misstep…& still could have got back into with rub of green & better finishing, it can’t be that bad! We were losing 4-0 & 5-1 in L1 in Oct 21!

05.10.2025 07:54 β€” πŸ‘ 4    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

2-0 probably fair - at least we showed fight & could have easily made it much harder. Agree that looked too open & 2nd goal poor. No issue with Penna overturn, although a bit confusing what was given, but Traore yellow harsh, looked to be clipped & should have been a red for them. Ah well, onwards!

Nigel Farage doesn’t think the Prime Minister should have free speech in this country. But he’ll tell foreigners that yours is somehow under threat from the Prime Minister. He’s a whiny little liar. Always has been. Always will be.

Well, it sort of does if you
continue to support a party who are pro mass deportation of β€œforeign” people with legal rights to remain. Especially if you are already anti immigration, anti human rights of minority groups, anti inclusion, anti Muslim & anti Europe. Almost like fascism, really?

Does the performances of Ballard, Makiele & Alderete further strengthen the case for back 3 when playing against strongest teams? Their presence was invaluable in both boxes today - and even with 10, we looked very dangerous from set pieces - inc long throws.

I don’t think he’s been terrible - certainly nowhere near Johnson levels - just disappointing- have to remember the state of the country he inherited & the state of the world - which is constantly becoming more batshit. 5/10 - main flaws are poor comms & lack of narrative - needs to provide hope!

Summer business looking very strong
Concerns - AfCon & can we break teams down who play with low block

Yep, we went early for next year too Phil! Remarkable festival - only the second year in 20 years with rain & mud, but the Tipi stage & a pop back to tent just in time to hear news of 2 late goals for the lads helped ride that out! Saw some of the sets you mentioned- but so many highlights! 🫢

Joke party - but a filthy, racist, 70s one - Bernard manning meets Alf Garnett - but sadly we’re on our way to being that joke country. Preposterous levels of idiocy at work.

β€œNigel Farage says….” has been the headline of the decade.
Look at what he does, ffs.
Look at his tax affairs.
Look at his grifting.
Look at his lies.
Look at his prejudice.
Look at his allies.
Look at his manifesto.
Look at his Brexit.
He is the embodiment of personal greed and national failure.
