the kinds of people who label themselves as fiscally “responsible” people who want to make the difficult decisions because they care about what’s financially sound will gloss over actual financially sound options like giving people housing.

“it’s expensive” your other solutions are more expensive and more convoluted. just give people a home.

giving homeless people housing is a good litmus test to see if someone actually cares to solve a problem or not. if they want to solve homeless they’d just give people homes.
