06.01.2026 11:54 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Good news for now from the State Library of Victoria (SLV), which once was one of the world's great libraries. A respite at least until the next external consultant comes along to vandalize the institution, with the support of its 'management'

Thatβs rough, but itβs better to be in the ball park than out of it? For what itβs worth I believe in you and your work and hope itβs just a matter of time between you and the next position.

We thank everyone for their generous support through these difficult times.

Iβm guessing that St Georgeβs Rdβs proximity to Merri Creek meant it developed differently. The creek used to flood, and there was lots of industry along it. There doesnβt appear to be much housing built along the western side of the road until the interwar years.

Looks like the NAA has put RecordSearch behind Cloudflare browser checks, so all my scrapers are broken. Not a surprise given the current environment, but that's another 15+ years work down the drain. I'm having a good year...
