An obituary will appear in the November edition of The Victorian, our membership magazine.

Looks like the NAA has put RecordSearch behind Cloudflare browser checks, so all my scrapers are broken. Not a surprise given the current environment, but that's another 15+ years work down the drain. I'm having a good year...

This is very disappointing to hear. Your work should be celebrated not terminated.

I absolutely loved Kathleen Hannah’s (Bikini Kill & Le Tigre) autobiography. Also Will Sergeant and Stephen Morris have each written two great autobiographies each. Will’s capture life in northern England superbly even if you are entirely disinterested in Echo and the Bunnymen.

I’m also feeling profoundly stupid in my writing - but didn’t have the sense to get my self a good lunch.

I’m sold - my not so guilty pleasure is listening to musicians autobiographies read by the musicians themselves.

The Australian Federal Government privileged the building of functional memorials in the post-war era, and it funded Holocaust memorials within its war memorial spending. Thus, Jewish communities in the post-war era usually received government funding to build (continued below)

This is wonderful news, the Brighton & Hove Reform Synagogue is an extraordinary building. However, it is wrong to claim the building as internationally unique for being a synagogue and a holocaust memorial. In Australia nearly every post-war synagogue is both a shul and a holocaust memorial.

Most of our public schools were built when our education system was equitably funded and so kids have access to ovals etc. Decades of underfunding and the growth of inner-city communities has left some schools bursting at the seams with no money to address overcrowding.
