This. The hard part of software is the people. Working with other engineers. Working with other teams. Working with users and customers and stakeholders. Agreeing on interfaces and requirements.

Syntax is so fucking easy. Did these guys struggle in CS 101?

I'll keep saying it: Syntax is the easy part. Its FUN. If you find writing code, you're a bad programmer and I don't trust you.

Writing code is easier than reading generated code exhaustively looking for hidden bugs.

And if the argument is "its not hard its just time consuming" (well, first, you get faster through practice...)

Reading some genAI bullshit it generated takes just as long if not longer than writing it my damn self. The only way its a time saver is if you skim and cut corners and accept bugs.

I'm happy to say it with my whole chest: Any engineer who thinks syntax is the hard part of engineering is a bad engineer not worth his weight in salt.

Syntax is the easy part of the job. I like writing code. Its fun. If you think that's hard, you don't know hard.
