The increasing hysteria from the White House only underlines how badly Trump has miscalculated. He can kill a lot of people, but he can’t win. And the chaos unleashed will create a global crisis. European leaders could try to halt it, but will instead be remembered as appeasers.

The pharma deal with the US is woefully short-sighted There must be more scrutiny of our pharma agreement with the US. Trump is strong-arming the UK into accepting massive price rises.

Doug Gurr selected as preferred candidate for Chair of CMA Doug Gurr has been announced as the preferred candidate to remain as chair of the Competition and Markets Authority.

Well he seems to have done a fine job at stopping the CMA being an effective regulator of monopolistic behaviour. So no wonder the government is keeping him.
