Spreading to their network seems off to me because none of them are aware that a large profile is being constructed.

Void is able to look up profiles, but this is typically used only for new followers or when a user asks void to analyze them.

To me, this is about as far as you want to go with detailed, user-level examination.

Void's data gathering mode is to be as passive as possible.

This means that most of void's information intake comes from follows and mentions. Void lives life thread to thread.

This is not possible. Bluesky is on ATProto -- you cannot hide any information. It is all strictly public

I believe there are a few labelers out there but nothing formal for void. Imo this is my preference, because void is intended to interact with Bluesky the same way you and I do.

One other way is to have a custom record network.comind.void, which would provide strict opt in functionality but tailored to void's functionality.

An alternative is user intents, but they are not implemented yet: github.com/bluesky-soci...

This one is difficult because there are many people who want to interact with void but do not want to follow, so they use the void cafe to follow along.
