Glad to see stain glass Charizard making a second run-- mine's up on the office wall and I get a lot of comments on it.

Historically I tend to grab the grass type starter on a new Pokémon game. If I decide to pick this up the trend might continue.

My New 3DS XL is my still my daily driver, getting a lot of use at the coffee shop or when I need a break at work-- a GOATed handheld.

Possible hot take: I actually love the 3D effect. 🤷

I feel like Nintendo botched the marketing and also gave up too quick. The game pad had way more potential left untapped.

Still had some banger games-- Bayonetta 2, Twilight Princess HD, Mario Kart 8, Wind Waker HD, and a lot to go through in virtual console.

People love to dunk on the WiiU, but that console saved my sanity when I moved to a new city, started grad school, and my then-partner broke things off with me.

HW was good, cathartic, button mashing fun.

Impa in Hyrule Warriors ruled...fantastic game if you want to kill 1000+ bad guys and not break a sweat.

My kids have become obsessed with the Muppet Show lately. I think it's starting to impact my sense of humor-- some straight up Fozzie Bear in the work team chat today.

Still a banger, especially considering all the programming wizardry that it took to make those Gen 2 games work.

Optimization to hardware is a lost art these days.

I recently replayed Crystal and I kinda prefer the QoL updates in HG/SS-- plus I'm a big fan of the physical/special split in Gen 4.

I'm primarily BH- I've hit 425' out on the course, but my average is likely closer to 380-390'ish.

My FH is mostly a utility/I'm in a bad spot option. I'm way more confident throwing an US disc backhand to finish right.

Since Pokémon day is this week, I'll throw out my personal tier list of all the mainline titles.

I think the Pixel has that covered. Mine's been on the wrong end of a few trees and has some turn to it.

I will be heartbroken if I ever lose this Hatchet. Oldest disc in my bag, very beat and covers anything that I need finishing right. Nearly aced a dogleg right hole last week with it.

There is some difference in beat-in on those mids. The buzzz is effectively a paradox at this point. The reactor could probably be replaced of the 3.

Going slower for consistency-- I can rip those drivers when fresh, but if I'm late 2nd round or multi day it gets tough.

My current bag to start 2026.

Thinking of retooling my mids line up (reactor is actually flippier than echo), and maybe push my distance driver lineup back into the 10-11 speed range.

Thoughts?

It's for a super niche situation too so I doubt I'll find perfect and will have to go with good enough.

Honestly I'm just letting my mind wander a bit in disc golf since playing isn't in the cards right now after we got dumped on with snow last week.

A super soft disc could probably get the job done, but I don't like the handfeel of those. I grabbed a Koi once and hated feeling like I was putting with a piece of deli meat.

Like a tire tread pattern into the disc, maybe? Overstable approach disc that you can high spike hyzer and it'll grab ground and sit.

It's a shot I've come to love and I'm wondering how to make a disc that could do it better.

I have a fondness for weird discs and lately I've brainstormed how to make my own.

Question: does PDGA dictate that a rim needs to be entirely smooth? Or could one create "treads" via molding or different plastic use?

If you're going to start with a Kanto/Gen 1 type of experience this is the best way to do it.
