We all know how successful that strategy was in the 2024 election.

My objection is how it focuses on AGE. As opposed to IMPAIRMENT.

A 40-year-old congressional representative could become impaired via, say, a traumatic brain injury. While an 80-year-old congressional representative could still have sharp intellectual functioning.

Choosing age 70 as the cut-off age for a congressional member is arbitrary.

Congress clearly needs to develop a process for how to remove members if and when they become impaired and unable to perform their duties.

Ageist as hell. I vote for mandatory neurocognitive testing of all congressional and presidential candidates before they are allowed to qualify to be on the ballot.

I'm concerned about WHO is funding the ballroom.

Absolutely. Giving outrageous military grade weapons to ICE would fulfill the goal of making them his personal army.

But since this administration has a penchant for grift and illegal actions, it's firing up some cynicism on my part.

ICE doesn't need them and perhaps they will never receive them. Has it occurred to anybody else that this might be a cover for purchasing and distributing weapons to countries or organizations who cannot legally receive them from the USG?

Also, I am old enough to remember calls for privatization of USPS at least 20 years ago. Specifically, discussions about having Staples take over operations.

When the end game is privatization, there is little interest in improving agency operations.

Exactly. Most federal agencies have their pensions funded by congressional appropriations. USPS funds its pension fund via its operating budget.

Fixing the fiscal structure of USPS would be far preferable to privatizing the system.

I have seen an account by a vet decrying vaccine injury among pets. It looks like a grift for her to do additional testing before vaccinating pets.

Most of the federal spending cuts appear to be nothing more than a ruse to send federal money to Silicon Valley tech bros to prop up their AI slop.

The majority of the companies haven't turned a profit and their funding is drying up.
