A governor should have the authority to respond to emergencies, shape the budget, and hold government officials accountable. Instead, political insiders are changing the rules because they know I'm ready to hold them accountable and put an end to their corruption.

If you visit Bridgewater, Iowa (pop. 148) watch out for La Familia Frese! Three brothers that really run things! (Just kidding- everyone knows the city clerk Mary Dunn is the real muscle behind the operation.) Congrats on your PIE Award for govt efficiency!

Big budget surplus = good.
Using that surplus for wasteful spending = not good.

Right now, Iowa is spending $300 million on an unaccountable voucher program while constitutionally underfunding public education. That’s not an accident β€” it’s a choice.

In 2020, as Auditor, my office found a nearly 900% increase in illegal denials of care after Iowa privatized Medicaid. This experiment failed. As governor, I will take the steps to reverse it. apnews.com/article/busi...

Iowa public schools used to be our state’s crown jewel. Now, we’re middle of the pack at best. I'm a proud product of Iowa public schools, and want us to get back to the top because that's what our students deserve. #PublicSchoolWeek

Iowans are struggling because our elected leaders aren’t focused on the issues that matter. I'm running to lower costs, strengthen the economy, invest in public education, and to deliver for all Iowans.

Why Kim Reynolds Gut the State Auditor's Office | Rob Sand for Iowa
Insiders in Des Moines have spent a lot of time changing laws to benefit themselves while leaving Iowa taxpayers to cover the bill. Meidas Touch recently asked Rob onto the show to chat about how… Why Kim Reynolds Gut the State Auditor's Office | Rob Sand for Iowa

So the Iowa GOP handcuffed the Auditor's office when I exposed record amounts of waste, fraud, and abuse of tax dollars. Now they are coming for the Governor's Office because they know we have a shot.

They believe if at first you don't succeed, change the rules.

Don’t be fooled. Federal government shutdowns have been around for decades. This bill is moving now because the insiders running state government want to lock in their power to spend your money beyond when voters take that power away.

Iowa growers, producers, and hardworking families don’t need more chaos or higher prices from Washington β€” thankfully the Supreme Court fixed what Iowa’s politicians refused to.

Insiders are corrupting the system to avoid accountability. They already stripped the powers of the Auditor’s Office after I uncovered record amounts of waste. Now, they see us coming to flip their tables, so they’re rigging in their budgeting control past the next election. buff.ly/WGjeulk

FULL PRESSER | Iowa State Auditor Rob Sand discusses difficulties in auditing ESA program Rob Sand claims the delay in information on the Education Savings Account program may have prevented his office from performing an audit to its fullest ability.

ICYMI: I'm fighting for transparency on how state government is giving away over $300M of your tax dollars to an unaccountable voucher program. And I'm not backing down.

Iowa Auditor Rob Sand criticizes delay in receiving information for ESA audit β€’ Iowa Capital Dispatch The audit comes as Auditor Rob Sand and Gov. Kim Reynolds have regularly sparred over requirements to sharing information on the ESA program.

Let's be very clear: accountability delayed is accountability denied. Waiting six months to give us documents so we don’t have time to look deeply is -wrong- plain and simple. Makes us wonder, doesn’t it? iowacapitaldispatch.com/2026/02/17/i...
