I maintain, nevertheless, that there are good, expressly political reasons for employing this concept over nearby alternatives used in other jurisdictions. With these purposes in mind, I then offer a reformulation of the concept that can better advance them'

So should platforms create special rules for AI‑generated content?
In a new paper, Jeffrey Howard (UCL), with Sarah Fisher and Beatriz Kira, argues that targeting AI content specifically isn’t necessary — and may even be counterproductive.

AI‑generated text, images, audio, and video are now everywhere on social media. Sometimes users are transparent about it — sometimes not. And while this isn’t always a problem, some uses can create real risks.
