Duckworth statement on Trumpβs strikes against Iran nuclear sites.
Trump bombing Iran was illegal and unjustified.
I ran for Congress to make sure our leaders consider the true costs of war.
And I will be in the Senate, standing on my titanium legs, demanding answers from Trump.
My statement:
Several Nobel laureates, numerous academicians from the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, a Cardinal and my boss, Br. Guy Consolmagno, Director of the Vatican Observatory, signed a statement titled: Protecting Freedom of Science and Preventing Distortion of Scientific Truth (Published June 16, 2025)

I wish any single reporter would say to a politician:
"What you just said, did not answer the question I asked."
Or, if in a room with several reporters:
"I'd like you to answer the question that <he or she> just asked."

What can we expect from tomorrow's flyby of Lucy at asteroid Donaldjohanson (DJ)?
I bet that we are going to see a weird object!
Why? There are two peculiar things we know:
1οΈβ£ DJ rotates very slowly (period = 251 h)
2οΈβ£ DJ has a large light-curve amplitude (~1 mag)

I'm actually kinda embarrassed to say that I was today years old when I found out this particular NASA sub-domain existed.
Videos, documentaries, live NASA events, lots of topics sorted by lots of categories. A great resource for students.
NASA's new documentary Planetary Defenders premieres on April 16th on NASA+ & NASA's YouTube channel. Don't miss it! Awesome look at the ins and outs of protecting the planet from hazardous asteroids and comets. π§ͺπ

Exoplanets are simply awe-inspiring! I have an exoplanet lecture, and I do a running exoplanet count in my monthly "President's Field of View" post for the newsletter of the Michigan's Warren Astronomical Society.
I've travelled to countless exoplanets in SpaceEngine:
