On April 12th, we had an exciting outreach event on campus for our local community. Over 50 local boys and girls, from Ritzville to Lewiston to Moscow, participated in the first Scouts BSA Merit Badge University at WSU. Organized by MME and the Department of Chemistry.

Two WSU STEM students named national Goldwater Scholars Eva Rickard and Joan "Jo" Castaneda Gonzalez will each receive up to $7,500 to support their 2025–26 education.

Computational chemist Prof. Ivan A. Popov at WSU and his colleagues Prof. La Pierre (Georgia Tech) and Bess Vlaisavljevich (UIowa) reported the first Pr5+ molecular compound stabilized by the imidophosphorane ligands (Nat. Chem. 2025, DOI: 10.1038/s41557-025-01797-w).
