I understand how their domestic politics works, but every "anti-war" article that writes the American toll without even a mention of 100s of schoolchildren and other civilians bombed makes me hate America more. Only American life has meaning.

I like your idea of written responses. For citizens and journalists it's easier to archive, search, and less performative antics for the camera. We have a gov. culture of secrecy regardless of the medium, we need strong media and leaks to keep them transparent.
