Need my ear piercings to heal already so I can start sticking weird shit in there. Just saw somebody with paper clips as earrings and you can’t tell me that doesn’t go hard

I want you to understand what it is like to live in Chicago during this time.

Every day my phone buzzes. It is a neighborhood group: four people were kidnapped at the corner drugstore. A friend a mile away sends a Slack message: she was at the scene when masked men assaulted and abducted two people on the street. A plumber working on my pipes is distraught, and I find out that two of his employees were kidnapped that morning. A week later it happens again.

An email arrives. Agents with guns have chased a teacher into the school where she works. They did not have a warrant. They dragged her away, ignoring her and her colleagues’ pleas to show proof of her documentation. That evening I stand a few feet from the parents of Rayito de Sol and listen to them describe, with anguish, how good Ms. Diana was to their children. What it is like to have strangers with guns traumatize your kids. For a teacher to hide a three-year-old child for fear they might be killed. How their relatives will no longer leave the house. I hear the pain and fury in their voices, and I wonder who will be next.

Understand what it is to pray in Chicago.

I literally can’t stop thinking about the Florence and the machine album. Like if I didn’t already believe in magic this album and hearing Florence discuss it would have made me

Been thinking about wearing a chain/padlock around the neck in a punk rock/imprompru weapon kinda way and not a kink kinda way. but every time I think about wearing a literal chain dr.umars voice pops up in my head like when you try and ride your bike inside a building in a Pokémon game

Having a job where you use walkie talkies is all fun and games until you start getting phantom walkie talkie sounds in your ear when you don’t have one 😂

Some days at work I’m just sitting out on the dock and we fixed our rocking chair so I’m really just soft launching my “old lady waving to you from porch” era

“Terrible things are happening outside. Poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. Families are torn apart. Men, women, and children are separated. Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared.”

the political policy cure for “male loneliness” is

- more time to hang with the fellas (4 day work week)

- more money to spend with the fellas (higher wages)

- more things to do with the fellas (taxing the rich and building 3rd spaces)

Plus, best part of working in venue rooms is getting a chance to watch the crowds. I see so much awesome, pro-social behavior: People picking up fallen strangers in mosh pits. Friends making life memories together. I saw at least three people do the worm yesterday. Three!

Had my first non-work live music experience since I started and I just really cherished the chance to focus on the music as an audience member.

I’m lucky enough to be working in rooms with music a couple of times per week, but getting to be a patron and nothing else just feels extra special

I was really curious about how working at a music venue was gonna impact my relationship to live music. We’re about a month in at this point and I gotta say…I still love it

I really enjoyed my read through as well! Ive been keeping up with it since they released the first version, and this one feels a lot more comprehensible/polished.

i don't think I've ever been as excited for a TTRPG thing as I am about the Summoner class in #drawsteel.

This is the second time Draw Steel has beautifully brought a dream class to life for me, the first being the Tactician.

Can't wait to see what the team has cooking up for the Beastheart!

Water, Earth, Air, Fire. I feel like I start off as specializing in the healing aspects of Water bending before leaning into the more defensive elements of Earth and Air before finally being pushed to learn the most offensive element in a whole arc about reccoking with one's internal rage 😂

an illustration featuring two original characters Rafe and Zacharius (who belongs to @lesoldatmort ) set into the world of Thedas (Dragon Age), inspired by Emerald Graves map and the Temple of Mythal. This time in a rainy weather.

The whole piece is situated to a balcony or a courtyard of old elven ruins. The bois are sitting in the lower left corner of the piece, Zach, who is dry, is casting a barrier around them to hold the water off. Rafe, completely drenched is trying to squeeze more water out of his hair. They're looking at each other playfully.

The dialogue between them would go something like this:
'You know... I could have cast that. Mom taught me a barrier like this one.'
'Sure, you could, but you were too busy climbing up that pillar over there. If you catch cold, suits you just right.'
'Yeah, yeah... Whatever. But next time I'll be the one to cast it.'

The ruins are overgrown and water is pooling around them. Everything is surrounded by a rather thick fog.

Dungeons & Disableds A tabletop Role-Playing Actual-Play Show where a bunch of nerdy disabled players sit at a virtual table and play Dungeons and Dragons with our Dungeon Master, Steve Saylor.

I need you to do me a favour.

I have a show called Dungeons & Disableds, a TTRPG Show with disabled players playing disabled characters and telling great stories.

If this appeals to you in the slightest, it would be so appreciated if you could subscribe to the show.
