Every time I hear a politician say that an issue is “dividing” this country they always then come down on the side of the right wing view of it. Just once I’d love to hear someone say “this issue is divisive, which is why I’m making the argument that kindness and compassion is important”

It never ceases to amaze me of the cruelty that mankind can inflict. A few years ago, a family of swans that lived on a river near my home were killed, one by one. Both parents & 3 cygnets until only 1 cygnet remained. It was found wandering on my street & taken to an animal sanctuary.

Not all councils have removed them. My local council, rather than remove the flags, has bizarrely decided to hang the Christmas decorations on the same poles. Now, all you can see are tatty flags wrapped around Christmas lights.
