You can now recycle your crutches, sticks and frames when no longer needed. We will check and clean them to help future patients. Return yours for reuse (and recycling) to any of Norfolk County Council’s recycling centres.

If you have an old walking aid at home, you can take it to your nearest Norfolk Recycling Centre. No appointment is necessary; simply drop it off at one of the council’s reuse shops.

Stroke and Neurosciences Art Group and their work.

Artwork made at our Stroke and Neurosciences Art Group has gone on display in our hospital.

The group is held on our Stroke and Neurosciences wards every Wednesday and is led by an Occupational Therapist (OT), an OT assistant and a regular hospital volunteer.

In March Mr Girish Swamy, Consultant Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon, put together a team of specialists to operate on patients with severe scoliosis in Kolkata.

All the patients were charity cases who, without the interventions, would not have had access to these complex surgeries.

Pre-Operative Assessments are changing

Before any planned surgery we carry out pre-operative assessments to check patients are fit and able to have their procedure.

A six-month pilot of an acute respiratory clinic at Dereham Community Hospital has found it has the potential to bring more care closer to home.

103 patients were seen in the clinic with 88% saying they preferred having an appointment at Dereham.
