My favorite day in PE would be when the gym teacher brought in the parachut. So cool! We could hide under it. Stretch it out and bounce a dozen balls. The seventies were groovy

I have on occasion been on the road and thought I’d share some photos of what I saw along the way. Photos by me, though on rare occasions I might accidentally post one taken by a family member but that got on my phone. #Photography

Or she could be reacting to an incredibly stupid post we can no longer see. Which was a expletive filled screed on how a “hot take“ is just a “snap judgement“ for the terminally online.

Cottonthistle looking distinctly uncottonly. This is why the phrase, "I only wear 100% cottonthistle undergarments" is never said.

A train zooms past some weeds and trees.
Okay, perhaps not really stunning, but I do find this photo really neat. Does that count?

A statue of the Virgin Mary (in a crown) holding the baby Jesus (who is actually looking more like a toddler). Behind the statue the ceiling and ornamentation of the cathedral is visible.
The Primate Cathedral of Saint Mary of Toledo. Toledo, Spain (not Ohio).

A bronze sculpture of bodies weary from the struggle and toil it took to immigrate here. In the background the older shorter buildings of Lower Manhattan. Some of these buildings have likely been replaced since this photo was taken.
Built in 1973 and installed in the eighties The Immigrants by Luis Sanguino celebrates the struggle of those coming to America and the diversity of NYC. Located at Battery Park where you can easily see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Taken in 1990 with a Pentax K1000.

A close up of the mouth of a merry-go-round horse, shot with a wide angle lens so the view is distorted and the other parts of the merry-go-round are much smaller. Other rides of the park can be scene in the distance, but only one person.
Started the day with a carousel so I'll end it with a Merry-Go-Round.

The round edge of a baseball/softball area with its brown sand is in the foreground. In the back ground near trees with leaves colored yellow and orange for early fall, are some people relaxing on the ground leisurely kicking an inflatable soccer ball that is much larger than your average human.

An old and slight covered in mildew LP record cover. It features the US flag, a musket, and 2 revolutionary era soldiers with their drums. The words fill up 80% of the cover: "The Hit Heard Round The World. Featuring The Top DJ's From All Over The World Reporting On And Playing The Newest Pop Hits." And then in smaller print: 10 Minute Version Presented As A Public Service By The United States Army
The top DJ's from all over the World? A public service of the US Army?? 10 minute version?!?
The Hit Heard #Round the World sounds like: Huh?

a slightly blurry and smeared image of an empty carousel.
The 1925 carousel at Recreation Park in Binghamton, NY. The 1959 Twilight Zone episode "Walking Distance" (1959) was inspired by this park and Merry-go-#round, and there is even a monument to Rod Serling there

A shot of a single orange "Gate" in NYC with some buildings visible past the woods. The orange gate is a frame holding an orange drape of fabric, which is flowing slightly in the breeze
2/2 One of the 7,503 Gates in Central Park, New York, NY. The Gates by Christo and Jeanne-Claude stood from February 12 through February 27, 2005.

Along the paths in the woods in Central Park are large Orange 16 feet tool metal posts from which 8 feet or so orange curtains fall down from. There is snow on the ground.
1/2 The Gates, Central Park, 2005. The piece of art comprised of 7,503 steel "gates" along 23 miles of paths in the park.
Excuse the quality of the image (and the fact that nothing actually seems to be in focus) this was taken with a Kodak Easyshare CX6200.
