i think it's meant to be easier so the ending where you have to do it without skills, tools or healing isnt ridiculously hard... but i didnt find that that bad either

the beta branch fixes this so that mel will be learning her lessons earlier in the story and then is able to make the big choice herself at the end which i think makes it feel way better! i like it now i think.

the ending proposes melinoë did have lessons to learn though. but instead of her learning it throughout the game, shes just told them all by zag at the end and then she goes immediately "wait true" and changes her mind on everything

i hope there are like very casual gamers who dont know splat playing and seeing this bench going "that is a big man i suppose!"
