Was woken up at 2am by a scratching sound 5 ft from my bed. I thought it was from outside my window til I turned on a lamp and the curtains moved.

It was a bat. Things I learned:

1) my dog has no prey drive

2) Bats are relatively easy to catch & release

3) My screams sound like choking.

It’s been several years scene I left standup comedy but occasionally I still find myself thinking about the dude who yelled “LOL” during one of my club sets. I asked him why he did that and he said he wanted me to know my joke was “extra funny.” I told him to next time just laugh louder.
