This was a pretty good #cookingwithpaddy. Lasagne. Pig cheeks from SMP, fennel, miraproix, cider & stock in the ragu. Cheddar & parm with bechamel. Buttered greens. Rather good (ron) burgundy

A pretty standard #cookingwithpaddy- bavette from SM Pinegar, some sharp & salty salad and a bit of baguette. Also some gorgeous silly, fruity red, which really was good.

What's the strategic objective of the conflict - and how can it be accomplished without a major physical deployment? What is DC ideal endgame and time frame? Not questioning morality of legality, just the "why?" Anyone smart got ideas? #Iran

What comes out to show the party is over?

A goldfish bowl

Also old man injuries. Go to the gym. Lifting all goes well. Trip as you put weights back. 48 hours of seating back pain.

Nah. My gran, who was 20 on Bermondsey in 1940 loved RFTS and showed it to me as an impressionable child. Only learned broader interpretations a lot later. Same with Gibson who was perhaps even better served by the glamorous Irish paratrooper Todd

Indeed - removing previously restrictive national barriers facilitates that.

A feeling of a broader shared space, of cultural, historical and philosophical ties that are broader than narrow ethnic / national borders. The EU as a polity helps facilitate the individual experience continental unity in work, rest and play. Or could / should do so.

Alternative / adjacent. The departure lounge at Antwerp station. Belle Γ‰poque architecture, great beer and food and a scrolling departure board for Moscow, Vienna and Berlin. Wonderful. Also lots of interesting people in Antwerp

(2) interesting to me as a #PR advisor is that I sort of shrugged and thought "figures, play the game". Then realised that this is meant to be a democratic state, constitutionally committed to freedom of speech. Not a hereditary monarchy that might be a more / less benevolent dictatorship

I feel sorry for Gavin. met him a few times and have a lot of respect for him. However, having spent a career working in post soviet and MENA regions, this is entirely standard working practice for comms advisors. You can't criticise Russian invasion of Crimea and advise Gazprom. For instance (1)
