Finally built my tbr bookshelf! Now to go through my other bookshelves and pull all my next reads!

I fear this book put me into a book reading slump. I realized this morning that I keep starting books and not finishing them since reading this one, other than one short audiobook that I listened to while cleaning. This is NOT typical book behavior for me.

I loved it. But there’s been lots of other books that other people loved and I couldn’t get through. Everyone likes different things, and that’s okay!

Yess! There’s a place close that does this, so we’re planning on that for Saturday!

My birthday is coming up next week and I decided to treat myself and rented a cabin for me and my book club friends this weekend.

If you were going to a cabin with a bunch of book friends, what is the one thing you’d like the host to consider to make the weekend great?

Yes! Sometimes it does! And I have to know if it will.

Yes! I don’t understand how people can just not know what happens to those characters! 😹

It’s also why it sometimes takes me some back and forth to choose my next read, because I don’t want to choose wrong!

Yes! The only want I DNF is by being like “I’ll read this later..” and then forget about it, lol. If I remember - then I have to finish.

Purposely DNF just doesn’t happen.

I don’t usually set weekly goals. I just read what I can depending on how that week goes.

But I rented a cabin for next weekend with my book club for my birthday! And I’m so excited to crafts and read and talk books all weekend!

I’m glad I’m not alone! It has to be really bad for me to DNF, haha.

Yeah. If I finish a book in a series and I don’t like it, I don’t need to complete the series. It’s very single book related for me.

But I will usually read enough to know what happens no matter what.

That’s a great way to be! I know I can go back to it later. I just struggle so much with not finishing/ knowing what happens. The one I’m reading now, I’m interested in the magic system and such. But I dislike one of the main characters and it’s ruining it. I keep skipping over some of her parts.

If you didn’t like Onyx Storm, we can still be friends. But I adored it. Also, I think I’m crushing on Ridoc now.

At what point do you DNF a book?

I hate not knowing what happens. I know if I’m skipping words and skimming the pages, I don’t love it. But struggle to actually DNF. I like to complete them! The only way I can DNF is by saying I’ll come back to it later, tricking myself.

I do think it’s super important right now and in the foreseeable future to really value moments of joy and to be intentional about making as many of them as you can
