At the end of the day, like what you like. This is my problem which I am trying to fix. I don’t believe enjoying things with “questionable”* themes is bad. I just can’t find it in me to do the same for the majority

*questionable by regular societies standards

I’ll give my view vaguely

I’ve watched tonnes of shows with mature themes, I recently sat my husband through his first viewing of Attack On Titan; it’s violent and brutal, and it’s fantastic

But my trauma makes me reluctant to view shows like Berserk or NGA as something to even consider watching

Discussion is good and I’m always happy to have them with people when it comes to my/our interests, but I really don’t know if the anime community as a whole - from the two decades I’ve been observing it - is very accepting of opposing views of their favorites

One thing I will never publicly talk about is my preference/views about certain anime

I fully admit I can be very pearl-clutchy when it comes to my opinions on what makes an anime good/suitable for my enjoyment, and I will put some of it down to my traumas, which I promise I am working on
