Having been lucky enough to photograph Osprey at close quarters in the wild (not in a hide) I managed to get an extreme close up of their talons in action.The bird fished about 25’ away from me giving this view of its spicules which help keep hold of the slippery pray #osprey @ukoi.bsky.social #bird

Was out yesterday checking on some fledged hobby chicks from a brood we ringed on an urban fringe heathland site. All three chicks doing well. Won't be long before they head off on migration. The latest I have seen a family still at this site is 6th Oct. but most will be gone 2 weeks before this.

Lots of Osprey action in the Wareham Channel this morning, seen from the @harbourbirds.bsky.social Osprey Cruise. These two birds came closest to the boat. The White-tailed Eagle pair were sitting in their favourite tree for the whole time. @ukoi.bsky.social

At least two Ospreys seen this am in Lytchett Bay with @nyrak62.bsky.social & @twamers.bsky.social. One had metal ring only on right leg, the other appeared to be unringed. Both had multiple fishing attempts and at times were calling to each other. @harbourbirds.bsky.social @ukoi.bsky.social
