Trying to make the player manage the meter: energy gets used up when you accelerate, when you use your "EXPLODE ALL CARS" button, and when you get hit. To balance that I've added energy pellets that the player can gather when cars gets destroyed.

New to this platform, so still figuring out how this works.
I've been working on this little game for like a year. This is the first actually sizeable project I started in pico8 and it's about to be released on itch.

I wanted to make it less "idle" and for example let player to move up and down to avoid bad trades and pick the good ones. The items would have different quality, price ranges and byers would have preferences, etc. After the jam I will probably try to make it into a "full" version.

Hitting cars now directly increases the speed. This gives the player more control over the difficulty. I've also tried switching the score from distance to speed to give the player an incentive to go faster (thanks @voidgazerbon.bsky.social !)

I guess they would mostly crash into stuff :D. It would just add something aggressive for the players to avoid or make them perform more risky maneuvers.

Added some variation to the car size and reworked the scrolling effect. I feel like the speed renders better with non-continuous line separating the lanes.
