I gave a talk today to 6th formers explaining the relationship between neoliberalism, populism & the far-right drawing on the tv show Industry. I showed that these positions & tropes have been represented on GBNews recently &/or exposited by GBNews guests & presenters. A major vector of extremism.

The theory’s author was banned from the UK because he is an extremist.

This is pretty representative of the reactionary ‘critical thinking’ podcasting circuit - for people who are dangerously ignorant and gullible yet somehow equally smug and confrontational.

It needs to try, but how? The Guardian? TikTok? X? Where’s it going to do this explaining where the message won’t be contradicted by lies & bullshit about the ‘real’ causes of British decline? Additionally, who trusts & values anything ministers say? Who has the charisma to transcend this?

They are still pro-elite, the Hungarian elite in particular.

Why is the far-Right and crypto converging like this? Crypto = deregulation, liberalization, privatization, removal of money from state control. Not a rejection of neoliberal globalism but its purest form for the white/Christian/racialised in-group. Financial grifters and ideologues in concert.
