Was headed from Odda, Norway on a solo backpacking trip to explore the glacier @folgefonnanasjonalpark. Planned to stay at DNT Holmaskjer and DNT Breidablikk and finish Monday morning at Årsnes Kai bus station. Red Cross search with volunteers and dogs and helicopters is underway in the area. They are pointedly ignoring the drama that's playing out below them. Can't people just behave themselves in public frescoes?

Big eel news! Recently uncovered frescoes at Pompeii contain eels. Because of course they do. Eels are everywhere in European history. You just have to look.

Such a great idea for teaching in places where you don’t have easy access to quadrattable(?) natural spaces!

I like to say I respect despair as an emotion but not an analysis. As an analysis it assumes we know what can and can't happen, and the future is both uncertain and at least to some extent what we make of it. Plus why would I give them what they want, as premature surrender? Thanks Senator Schatz.
