Bird is grumpy. He’s molting and he knows it’s Joy’s fault. Joy claims that it’s just because of the weather but Bird knows better. Joy did something to cause this and when Bird figures out what, Joy’s getting her head thumped! #bird #parrot #cockatoo

Today was the best! Joy was sick so she stayed home from work. Bird got to sit on her all day! Everything is more fun when you sit on Joy. He watched TV and played with toys and took a nap and ate snacks. Bird says he hopes Joy is sick more often! Being sick is the best! #bird #parrot #cockatoo

Bird is mad. Joy lost Dad. She went outside with him and she came back alone. She claims he flew home but Bird knows Dad can’t fly. It’s just an excuse to pretend that she didn’t lose him. She knows he gets lost easily and it takes months for him to find his way back. Bird is mad at Stupid Joy #bird

Today was a good day! Joy was eating peanut butter crackers and looked away for a moment and Bird stole one. He says peanut butter crackers are the best! You can hold them in your foot and lick the peanut butter and then crunch up the cracker in Joy’s hair. Stealing is super fun! #bird #parrot

Today was the best! Joy found Dad and brought him home. Bird says Dad is kind of dumb because he keeps getting lost. Bird kept an eye on him so he wouldn’t get lost again. Everyone talked but Bird won that because he was the loudest. And he played lots of games with Dad. Super fun! #parrot #bird

Bird says today was super fun! Joy threw a toy on top of the cage and Bird pounced on it and wrestled with it before throwing it off the edge. Then he backs up so Joy can throw it again. It would be even better if Joy hadn’t chained it to the cage and had to go chase it but it’s still really fun!

Bird broke out of his cage this weekend. Luckily he has rules that he follows because they are his rules and not the dumb ones that Joy is always yelling about. If he breaks out, he goes on his cage and waits for praise and laughs. Forget to lock the cage and your stuff pays the price! Bird rules.

Bird says buttons are super fun! First you get to steal them off of Joy’s shirt. Joy says don’t but who listens to her? Anyway Bird says he put it back on her shirt when he was done playing with it so what is Joy complaining about? #birds #parrots #cockatoo

Joy says that all of the extreme temperature changes are making Bird molt and stop and then molt some more, leaving him ratty looking. Bird wants to know what ratty looking means. Joy says it means very pretty. Bird said that’s what he thought it meant. #bird #parrot #cockatoo

She does a good job with that banana! Bird used to eat banana but now he says he doesn’t remember liking banana and what’s this thing taking up room in his cap that should be refried beans or grits but isn’t either. Bird blames me when his meal isn’t yummy.

Hahaha! Bird is always stealing a bite of cheese and then being mad at me for eating something that isn’t delicious to Bird.

True. I admit I spoil him on purpose. He was being abused at his previous home. It took a year to coax him out of being afraid all the time but now he’s confident that he’s the leader of the flock. It’s nice to see how far he’s come. He feels safe and loved and really that’s what we all want.

Yes Bird says I’m selfish because I always stop playing fetch before he’s done. We live to serve. It’s a good thing that they’re so cute.

Have you been trained to fetch the toys she throws? That’s Bird’s favorite game.

Bird says his favorite cookie is peanut butter cookies but he has to eat his first. He says Joy is allowed to hold it for him but not eat any of it because it’s his. Bird says sharing is dumb. When you’re full you can crumble it up and throw it on Joy for fun. Cookies are the best! #parrot #bird

Bird is a big fan of grits because they’re warm and chewed up just like mom used to make. Corn is good for weight gain. Maybe Maxine would like grits too. Be sure and let us know if you set up a go fund me for the poor little girl.

Last night Bird went to birdy jail for a whole hour. Joy put him in his cage so she could fix dinner. When she put him in he put one foot on the perch and held on to her finger with his other foot “How cute!” Joy thought. “RAWR” Bird said, springing his trap on Joy’s hand. Birdy jail for an hour.

True. But then all rules are Bird rules.

Last night Joy sang the night night song but Bird was having too much fun playing with his toys so he kept taking his foot and holding Joy’s mouth shut so she couldn’t sing a song Bird didn’t want to hear. Bird said if she can’t sing it, he doesn’t have to do it. Bird wins! #birds #parrot #pets

Yeah I have enough feathers on the floor to make another bird. I sweep twice a day but it’s never enough. Wednesday is supposed to be cold again so I’ll need to keep the heat up inside. Hope it stops soon. Mr Grumpy Feathers is torn between wanting to be petted and not wanting to be touched.
