It's honestly really fun looking at Nintendo's older library and seeing how much some things and even entire games are just kinda from other games.
Maybe the most famous example is Donkey Kong 3 changing to a shmup, but there's also Mach Rider and 3D Hot Rally being clones of Hang On and OutRun.

Yeah, like the time when they took Virtual On's targeting system and made people think they invented Z-Targeting by watching stage plays.

Also maybe my optics are a little skewed but saying the PS2 games that went for realism ended up looking dated next gen is kinda funny to me when I find that a lot of PS2 games look better than PS3 games. Sure, MGS2/3 aren't as technically advanced as MGS4 but god damn are they still beautiful games

Like, it feels like it's more a case of telephone of regurgitated opinions about why Sonic games suck rather than people actually thinking Tails is the problem with the series. Yet, that's what reached Sega!

Like maybe I'm far off but it feels like it went from "aw man, Tails is these stupid mech levels? I wish it was all these characters playing levels like Sonic does" > Heroes.
And then Heroes it was "getting the true ending's a pain" and that getting morphed into "Sonic's friends are the problem!"

I was like 10 and barely on the internet at the time of Sonic 4 and so I was like "people don't like Tails?" when reading about it in Nintendo Power.
And the answer was no, people like Tails. What led to Sonic 4 is fair enough complaints being twisted into complaints that meant nothing.

A press release for the Book of Bill Limited Collector's Edition saying one of the main selling points is the "Passionate fanbase: Since its initial airing, the show's dedicated fanbase has only grown. The standard edition's release proved the Gravity Falls fans are older and looking for darker content. Still, this title crosses over to teens and new adults."

It's fucked up that in 2 months there might be some slight new Gravity Falls content cause of the Book of Bill collector's edition. Also the press release says this which, oh my god yes please give me more Gravity Falls content like Book of Bill.

I don't doubt it, I do remember some audio latency things, even 3D All Stars had it pretty noticeable. But I feel like there's specific parts of games where it's so much worse on Switch 2. Wonder if the rewind being CPU intensive has something to do with it.

I got very used to how F-Zero X's menus felt on Switch 1 cause every time there was an update I would foolishly boot it up to see if X's performance or sensitivity was fixed, so when I booted it up on Switch 2 for the first time I immediately noticed the audio and input lag on the menus.

Yeah, but it wasn't THIS bad on Switch 1. It at least mostly was in line, but Puzzle League specifically is very noticeable. I didn't notice audio latency being too bad on Banjo-Tooie, though there's definitely more audio AND visual latency on F-Zero X's menus specifically on Switch 2.

Relaxing in bed right now so I'm not gonna get some other Pokemon Puzzle League footage yet, but here's Panel De Pon on SNES NSO for comparison for what the timing of all the sounds should be.
