Next Fest demos I found charming, emotive, beautiful, novel, or all of the above
1. 1348 Ex Voto Medieval Italy, swordplay, a knight errant off to save her bestie from brigands - need I say more? Voice acting & facial animations are awesome so far too! store.steampowered.com/app/1895900/...
Steam Next Fest and Resident Evil Requiem in the same week? We are blessed ๐โโ๏ธ
but also there just aren't enough hours in the week...
Crisol is really fun so far, it has a good mixture of creepy horror and humour, kind of reminds me of RE4 & 8 which is never a bad thing.
Only complaint so far is that the motorbike in the "hub" feels useless cos after sharpening my knife & going to a new area, my durability reset to zero ๐
Feels like the horror fridge is full this month what with Reanimal, Crisol and RE9 releasing this month
Crisol will be a juicy starter on 10 February - stylishly twisted, bloody terrifying. Don't miss it.

Totally unplanned, but I loved the demo for Queen's Domain so much that I went ahead and made a short video about it.
Check out my thoughts and play it for yourself on Steam!

19.10.2025 16:00 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Tearscape is like if you crossed a classic Zelda game with Bloodborne - not a marriage I would have every imagined working but it's frickin awesome.
Very much worth checking out, I cannot wait to play the full game, but sadly will have to wait until 2026...

Subversive Memories is a classic survival horror game that focuses on puzzles & story-telling. It's set in Brazil who are under a military dictatorship.
The graphics kind of reminded of Alone in the Dark, and it kept me immersed throughout.

I think Reanimal is going to be on a lot of people's wishlists - it's from the original devs of Little Nightmares 1 & 2, and takes place in its own strange & horrific world.
Had a very weird graphical bugs in the demo, but very much enjoyed it

From the devs of Pocket Mirror and Little Goody Two Shoes, Hell Maiden has gorgeous art and takes place in the universe of the Divine Comedy.
It plays like Vampire Survivors x Hades, and from what I played seems pretty damned awesome

A lot letter to Paper Mario, Escape from Ever After has cute graphics, funny dialogue and an intriguing premise! I love exploring the world of The Shadow Over Innsbeak while searching for Sherlock Holmes, cool as heck

I haven't had as much time to go through Next Fest demos this week but there are some really awesome games offering sneak peaks this month
My faves so far ๐
I really need to stop accumulating games and actually start playing some - my Steam library is worse than my bookcase at this point ๐ฌ

I really enjoyed the Silent Hill 2 remake and I'll be excited to play the Silent Hill 1 remake etc
But the really cool thing Konami should do is release the originals on PC. I want to be able to play the originals as well in all their crunchy glory
A must buy for survival horror fans & dungeon crawlers, the demo was so addictive I downloaded it twice because i wanted another crack at surviving ๐
26.09.2025 15:14 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Preloading! Sadly won't get to play until I get off work but I'm looking forward to it!
Also makes me wish Silent Hill 3 was available. Would have been neat if they'd made that available at the same time ๐๏ธ
Played the demo for Crisol: Theatre of Idols and first impressions:
1) wow
2) ow I had to stab myself to reload - where's a chicken?
3) If Blasphemous had a baby with Lies of P and Scorn
4) Shooting range? Yesssss RE4 babyyyy
5) ooo collectibles/shootables
6) I don't like Dolores
7) FOV slider pls
I have arrived at Sen's Fortress in my first Dark Souls playthrough and I absolutely despise it so far, but maybe I'm just salty
