Congrats to Dr. Nicole Soulier, recipient of the 2025 CSCC Richard M. Romano Dissertation of the Year Award! Dr. Soulier’s work centers the community college mission to meet evolving needs of diverse students. Her dissertation amplifies Indigenous voices to better serve these communities.

Congrats Dr. Ashley Gaskew, recipient of the 2025 CSCC Research Grant! Dr. Gaskew explores the dynamics of socioeconomic policies, faculty experiences, & institutional cultures, along with the roles and contributions of for-profit & community college institutions.

Congrats Dr. Jorge Burmicky, recipient of the 2025 CSCC Barbara K. Townsend Emerging Scholar Award! Dr. Burmicky’s research examines presidential leadership in higher education, emphasizing equity-minded & socially just leadership, & educational outcomes of men of color.

Congrats Dra. Marissa C. Vasquez, recipient of the 2025 CSCC Arthur M. Cohen & Florence B. Brawer Distinguished Service Award! Dra. Vasquez uses an anti-deficit lens to interrogate transitional experiences of community college/transfer students & equity-centered institutional effectiveness.

Congrats to the Office of Community College Research & Leadership (OCCRL), recipient of the 2025 CSCC Presidential Citation of Excellence Award! For over three decades, OCCRL has been a driving force in advancing equity & improving policies, programs, & practices that enhance cc education.
