A Line By Line Analysis Of Trump's Big Anti-Trans Executive Order Trump released over 70 executive orders on Monday. While orders on immigration and climate got a lot of attention, his anti-transgender order could have sweeping impacts as well.

1. Yesterday, Trump released a broad anti-trans executive order that could have extreme impacts on transgender people's lives if implemented.

There has been much discussion of what it actually does.

Yes. Confusion and fear is part of it. Which is why states need to say "make us." Force them to actually enforce this stuff. It becomes a hydra of enforcement difficulty for the feds.

TLDR: There is nothing enforceable for the immediate future. It will take months or years to implement this via rulemaking or bureaucratic changes which are then subject to legal challenge. While it's worrying, there's no immediate change yet for most trans people. Do not comply in advance.

California, New York, and Nevada constitutionally cannot comply. Gender identity is constitutionally protected in those states.

how would they know what our sex at birth would be? birth certificates are handled at the state-level and if you could change it in your state, then wouldn't your "sex at birth" be your chosen gender? as far as i know, they don't keep records of these changes..
