The Roar of the Cave Bear! #WorldWildlifeDay
This brown lemming found itself exposed on a patch of snow when a jaeger came by. The lemming backed into a "cave" and looked as fierce as it could. The jaeger passed up on the meal. Utqiaฤกvik #Alaska ๐ฆ

The #BirdOfTheDay theme is #PerfectLighting.
Perfect lighting can mean a lot of conditions depending on what one wants to capture but evening light, especially for birds with lots of white is hard to argue against. Drake Bufflehead ready for action. Anchorage #Alaska ๐ชถ

The nemesis seabirds of many a birder visiting the Southern Ocean are the Prions. They can be tricky to identify to species under ideal conditions, even more so as they dart between the waves. I'm calling this one an Antarctic Prion, seen mocking the spray west of South Georgia ๐ชถ๐ฆ
