Jeremy: What was the best part of ABBA tonight?
Jeremy: Listening to Tori [Amos] on the way home!
Bright spot: Window open, birdsong, The Sundays on, stamping away on my books, making ambitious plans (in my mind).

Bright spot: From the library of…
For my book-cataloging project.
Familiar with Sylvia Plath, I’m guessing? Emily Dickinson?

28.01.2025 17:19 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Are you interested in any particular themes? Contemporary poets or more “classics”? My queen is Anne Carson, but she’s not for everyone. I’ve gifted my favorite book of hers to several people and they all said they couldn’t get through it! Ada Limón is widely appreciated (current US Poet Laureate).
28.01.2025 17:16 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Slowly cataloging and organizing my books. I’ve completed 9 cubbies, have 23 more to go, and am currently at 530 books. These days, reading full books, and a wide variety, with differing opinions, is a radical act. Shelf 1: Plays, film studies, overflow poetry. Shelf 2: Poetry.

This is my janky attempt at the first 12 measures of Eric Satie’s “Gymnopédie (No. 1).” One day, in a million years, I’ll be able to play the full thing.
